Which team has the most annoying fans in the NFL? How about college football?

My choices were posted on another question.

Which team has the most annoying fans in the NFL? How aboutcollegefootball?nba schedule

Dallas Cowboys, OK Sooners, Florida Gators, and the Yankees are great contenders for that title.

Which team has the most annoying fans in the NFL? How aboutcollegefootball?nba mock drafts ,nba teams

Any bandwagon fan is the most annoying. They try to talk like they know all about the team but don't really know anything.
thats hard to say... recently its been Pats fans, they are really annoying. Eagle fans are a close 2nd.

oh i would say USC fans especially that one kid on yahoo answers that always answers with a "go usc" thing hate that kid.
In the NFL, it has to be the chargers fans. There's always an excuse. After the playoff loss to the patriots last year, most fans blamed it on Marty. Thus far in the season, I'm pretty sure he wasn't the problem. he wasn't the one out there dropping punts and committing personal fouls that gave the offense 1st downs on failed 3rd down conversions that lead to touchdowns. This year everything is being put on Phillip Rivers and Norv Turner.

In the NCAA, USC by far. They think they've got the best damn team of all time every single year. What do you know, the past 10 times they think their team is the greatest, they've only finished 1st twice. Notre Dame fans are pretty bad too. Thinking they deserve a BCS bid every single year. Their rebute to any argument is that they are "God's school." ha
Fletch is right: The Spytriots and Trojans.
Eagles
Dallas and Michigan.
In the NFL it is a toss up between the saints fans and the cheeseheads of green bay. In thecollegeranks USC has the worst, most obnoxious fans.
any bandwagon team has the most annoying fans (cowboys, pats, USC etc). they are the ones who post stupid questions and answers all day and they dont know much about football...

roger: Eagles fans arent annoying, they are PASSIONATE!!!
Pats and USC.
Raiders.......and they are mean!!

USC....I'm a fan and they still annoy me.
NFL - Minnesota Vikings. Any fans that wear blonde pig tails and horns on their heads need help. Also, they cheer to that stupid ricolla horn. They scream the loudest when their team wins and all leave at the end of the 3rd quarter if they are losing.

NCAA - Michigan by far. Arrogant, annoying. They only know two words at a time - Go Blue or Hail, Hail.
In the NFL I would have to say the Bills. Living here in upstate NY(62 miles) away from buffalo the fans hide when the team is losing. They don't say anything about their team and they talk stupid smack about other teams. Yes I know there are probably lots of others all over like this but I am soooooo glad that the cowboys beat the Bills Monday night. If it went the other way around every Bills fan would have been wearing their Bills hat's and shirts everywhere.

For College I would have to say USC.

When are the NFL injury reports due out?

Last year the initial injury reports were posted on Wednesday afternoons at 5:00 PM, with an updated version on Saturday. Now I don't see them at all, and it's the end of the day on Thursday. Has there been a revised policy?

When are the NFL injury reports due out?nba draft history

No, that's still correct -- Wed. 5 p.m. The newspaper in your hometown sucks if they don't put it in the sports section. Plus, you have coaches like the Patriots coach (Bill the cheater) who aren't always honest with who's hurt and who isn't, so you can't believe everything you read.

It seems that injury lists have a style change from the Associated Press. On Wednesday, the list indicates if a player practiced full, only light work, or no practice. Here is the Friday update from the AP.

Who are the top five return specialists in the NFL today?

In your opinion or what the experts say.

Who are the top five return specialists in the NFL today?nba graphics

DEVIN HESTER FAKES BEING NO 1~!

Who are the top five return specialists in the NFL today?nba live 2007 ,nba teams

Cleveland Browns had a 27.0 yard kick return average (#1 in NFL)

Houston Texans had a 26.5 yard kick return average (#2 in NFL)

San Diego Chargers had a 25.5 yard kick return average (#3 in NFL)

Maurice Hicks of the 49ers had 63 kick returns (#1 in NFL)

Nate Burleson of the Seahawks had 58 punt returns (#1 in the NFL)

Joshua Cribbs of the Browns had 1809 kick return yards (#1 in NFL)

Nate Burleson of the Seahawks had 658 punt return yards (#1 in NFL)

Ellis Hobbs of the Patriots had the longest kick return of 108 yards

Tramon Williams of the packers had the longest punt return of 94 yards

Andre Davis and Leon Washington are tide for most kick return TDs at 3

Devin Hester beats all with 4 punt return TDs
Here ya go

Obviously you all know who we begin with.

1. Devin Hester- KR-934, 2 tds. PR-651, 4 tds.(enough said!)

2. Joshua Cribbs(CLE)- KR-1,809, 2 tds. PR-405, 1 td (had an amazing return against the Steelers)

3. Maurice Hicks(SF)-1502. (The only bright spot they had)

4. Ted Ginn JR(MIA)-1433. PR-230, 1 td.(Eh, it's Miami)

5. Glenn Holt(CIN)-1,432 1 td. (nice compliment to a declining team, now only if the defense could stop someone)
1. Devin Hester, Bears. Proven indisputably the best. The only kick returner I can name who has kept his team in games all on his own.

2. Josh Cribbs, Browns. Rising star, will be used more on offense next year.

3. Darren Sproles, Chargers. He's small, fast, and he's got all the moves. Sproles is an excellent return man, and his numbers prove it.

4. DeSean Jackson, Eagles. I fully realize that this is my only selection that people could really argue with, but try arguing with this: http://youtube.com/watch?v=DPXSzia2Zfg

He was indisputably the bestcollegereturn man I've ever seen, and I would be SHOCKED if he isn't instantly one of the best return men in the NFL.

5. Ted Ginn, Dolphins. He actually returned kicks and punts quite well last year, despite not much help from his teammates. His numbers don't fully reflect how well he played, because he had multiple long touchdown returns called back for stupid holding penalties.
Why bother asking this question...you know what the answer is... Hester is No.1 by a long shot! The next 4 guys dont even matter... but hey, Devin can't beat the Oakland Special Teams coverage...we TACKLED his butt so good last year! He was crying on camera the next day.

But for real he is da best.
1. Devin Hester (Bears)

2. Eddie Drummond (Lions)

3. Dante Hall (Cheifs)

4. Terrence Wilkins (Colts)

5. Cory Ross (Ravens)
wow, how has no one mentioned the number one punt returner in the league, roscoe parrish.
Devin Hester

Devin Hester

Devin Hester

Devin Hester
I say:

1. Devin Hester

2. Dante Hall

3. T.J. Rushing

4. Andre Davis

5. Ellis Hobbs
1.Devin Hester

2. Josh Cribbs

3.Koren Robinson if someone gives him a chance
well Devin Hester Duh

Josh Cribbs

Leon Washington

Ted Gin Jr.

What is the longest pass in the NFL, not including the yards gained after?

From arm to hands, what is the distance in yards.

What is the longest pass in the NFL, not including the yards gained after?nba street

That is something that really cant be answered because it is not a stat that is recorded. Any passing stat includes yards gained after the catch, but I've seen Randall Cunningham throw the ball about 65 yards in the air after almost getting sacked in the end zone for a safety. Jamarcus Russell does have a cannon, but has no one to throw it to deep. Supposedly he threw the ball from his knees something like 70 yards through the uprights. Then again Jeff George had a cannon arm and didnt amount to a hill of $hit.

it would be tough to find out this because that is not an official stat.
i think its around 78 yards but it will be broken soon by jamarcus russell

...Uh...Hate to break it to you, but most likely they are just fans...Unless it specifies a player's official page, in which case there would be people handling the page for the player...not the player himself...

I haven't seen any actual football players on myspace.
i have one but only for communicating with a friend who moved --I normally can't stand the site

the only play I am positive has one is Chad Johnson (there's a link from his official site) ---I've heard alot of the ones of lesser-known(and younger) guys are real though (as they might actually have time to do it).

Why do some NFL players name their high school when they introduce themselves on primetime games?

Just wondering why certain players name their high school instead of thecollegethey played at when they introduce themselves on television in the starting lineups? It makes fans of thecollegefeel disrespected....but maybe there's a good reason behind it. Anyone know anything about this? Maybe they promised an old coach they would mention the high school or something on national TV? Just curious.

Why do some NFL players name their high school when they introduce themselves on primetime games?nba salary cap

It appears to me the ones that do it did not graduate or maybe felt slighted by thier college, so they mention their highschool or hometown. I remember a few years back when I heard a HS mentioned for the first time, I looked it up and the player had gotten suspended or kicked out (I don't remember) and had made it known he wouldn't mention hiscollegeanymore.

Why do some NFL players name their high school when they introduce themselves on primetime games?nba rumors ,nba teams

They will only say theircollegeif they graduated. If not, then they will say the high school they graduated from.
In Willie Parker's case it was because he barely played at North Carolina, so since the Art Rooney II scouted him more at High School thencollegethat is what he gives. Now I'm not sure about most of they players, I mean I can understand if they went to H.S. in the city the game is in but like I said I don't know why most do.
cause they never went to college
They didn't go to college.
they didnt graduate from college...they just attended enough classes to stay eligible to play football
Because they did not attendcollegeor least not long enough to earn a degree
It makes the fans of thecollegefeel disrespected?? Really, thats how you feel?

They mention their high schools to give love to where they grew up. How many football players say "The U", the answer is hundreds.

But how many say Riverside H.S., maybe one. While acollegeprogram may put out several NFL players, high schools across the nation may only have one in their entire existence.

Besides, it is their air time so they can say what they want!
I know Willie Parker does because he never started for North Carolina imagine that!!!
they all attended a college, but they may have thought they're being funny, or most likely had some kind of dispute with the former school and don't want to give it publicity.
once a guy said his preschool

http://youtube.com/watch?v=o5P1zAGAbxg
Maybe its a shoutout to all the old homies from the 'hood. They care more about them than all the alumni who may feel slighted when they don't mention the ol' alma mater.
They were drafted from High School.

What NFL team has the most disloyal fans in the NFL?

Not neccessarily bandwagoners but more like fair weather fans that bash the team when they are having a bad year or day.

well i have to say i'm a big and i mean big raider fan and i say there fans and i'll tell u why,,,.alot of there games are blacked out because they don't sell out and when there playing good they come to the games but when they suck the fans booo them

I'M A GIANTS FAN BUT I HAVE TO BE REAL

SOME OF US VERY DISLOYAL

LOOK AT WAT HAPPENS FOR THE GIANTS VS PATRIOTS GAME?

THAT f@#$ING PISS ME OFF
my guess is your not going to get any honest unbiased answers, ill bet everyone just names the team they hate or something. I really dont know, Los Angeles has notoriously apathetic fans who dont really care, thats from Jim Rome who does his show out of la %26amp; is originally from there. Anyway define disloyal, I think bashing the team is fine, if the team sucks what are you going to do praise them, part of the reason New York teams %26amp; other big market teams are so successful is because the media %26amp; fan base destroys them when they screw up, they are hard on them. Every team has bandwagon fans who jump on when theyre winning %26amp; then every team has die hards who were there at the beginning till the end of theyre lives. Its kind of hard to say.
Okland Raiders- the black hole
buffalo bills
eagles fans are the worst.giant fans are demanding,i must admit...but eagle fans are downright hateful when their team is not doing well
probably the dolphins

i hate them lots
Giants
Lions have me...8 games of interest..tape the rest in case something possibly goes right...

still attend games when possible....just so mediocre for so long
dolphins
DENVER BRONCOS. THAT GAME AGAINST THE CHARGERS , FULL STADIUM AT THE START OF THE GAME,AND BY THE 2ND THE STADIUM ONLY HAD A HAND FULL OF FANS .
I would guess Dallas.

Look what they did to the last coach that took them to the Super Bowl. They fired him . That was Barry Switzer. Hey, at least he got them there. They haven't been back since.
The Eagles... watch the movie, Invincable

The Jets... used to wear paperbags over their heads so people wouldnt know they were Jets fans...

Buffalo.... I honestly dont know any Buffalo fans
Whichever team I'm rooting for that week.
Patriots.
!!!!!LSU ROCKS!!!!!!

even though they arent nfl
"bandwagoners" are "fair weather fans". they're the most disloyal out of the bunch, the worst kind of fan.

pointing out your team is bad when they obviously are, doesn't make you "disloyal" or a bad fan.
I do not know, but the Texans probably have the most loyal fans. they have sold out each home game regardless of their record but then again Texas is a big football state
Patriots, Eagles
the jets cuz they cheered wen chad pennington went down wit injury
Vikings Fans mostly. Packer fans are great. Ever been to Lambeau bro? Didn't think so. It's ok we don't want your hating kind there anyways!
The Huntsville Stinky Jocks. Their fans are so disloyal not one of them has ever returned to watch another game!
Well, I think Oakland Raiders has the most disloyal fans.. Back in the days that the Raiders was in Los Angeles, most of people were Raiders fans, but when they left again for Oakland, everyone in L.A. started to root for another team.. Anyway, I think any teams in NFL would have some kind of disroyal fans..
well, i dont think we can really equate that number, every team has their share of "fairweather fans", bandwagon jumpers, die hard fans and my favorite, the "casual" fan (which is another word for i live in this city and i root for them but when they suck I act like i dont care about sports).

That being said, Philadelphia and New York are known for being the toughest fans. I think New York fans get a bad wrap because our media is so tough; people like Mike Lupica are the hugest douchebags in sports print. Fans in Philly would beat ur A$S if they had the chance; I can't believe Winston Justice didn't get mugged after Osi Umenyiora ate his lunch (6 sacks for him, 12 for the team? terrible).

I think the Bears fans have been a little "fair weatherish", at my school, all the Chi-town kids were out repping Urlacher and sorta cheering for Grossman but now that they had a down year, they didn't even wanna talk football. That's one thing most Giants fans dont do, we'll talk ball even when our football team sucks.
jacksonville jags
The Ravens
bears everybody came out and said they were fans and **** when they went 2 the superbowl now they say the bears suk
if home record is any indication i would say the giants
dolphins maybe?

but to the person who said dallas, um, i don't think so. i'm a dallas fan and i'm most deffinetly not disloyal %26amp; everyone i know that a cowboys fan isn't.

How does the NFL playoff schedule work?

How many teams from each division make it in, who plays who; and how many games are played before the superbowl.

How does the NFL playoff schedule work?nba street homecourt

The teams get seeded 1-6 based on records. The 1-4 seeds are division champs and the 5 and 6 teams are wild card teams.

On wild card weekend in both conferences, The 3 seed hosts the 6 seed and the 4 hosts the 5, even if the 5 seed has a better record. Both conference's top seeds get a bye. (4 games this weekend)

The next weekend, the Divisional Round, the 1 seed gets the lowest seed that advances (which could be 4, 5, or 6) and the 2 seed hosts the highest seed that advances (3, 4, or 5). (4 more games, bringing the total to 8)

In the Conference Championship round, the highest seed which advances hosts the lower seed to determine who plays in the Super Bowl. (2 games, bringing the total to 10. This is either a team's 2nd or 3rd game depending on the seed).

In the Super Bowl, the AFC and NFC Champions play at a neutral site to determine that season's champion. (The 11th game and a team's 3rd or 4th).

How does the NFL playoff schedule work?nba salary cap ,nba teams

The #3 and #6 teams play against each other in the Wild Card...

The #4 and #5 teams play against each other in the Wild Card...

The winner of each of those games play against The #1 or #2 teams in the Divisional Playoffs...The winner of those 2 games play against each other for either the NFC or AFC Championship game...The winner of the NFC and AFC will play against each other in the Superbowl...The top 2 teams in the League...
The play-offs games are made by seeds.

The #1 and #2 seed in the AFC and NFC get the wild card bye since they deserved it by getting a good record in regular season. Winner of divisions always make it in, even if they are 7-9, but they team would get the 4th seed, the 5th and 6th seeds play the 4th and 3rd seeds in the Wild Card weekend. 4th and 3rd are home. #1 and #2 also have to win their division. If one team is 12-4, but don't win their division, they cant be any top 4 seeds, and team say 11-5 and win their division fill their place.

1 or 2 teams make it in each division, it all depends on reg. season record. 4 games are played in Wild card, 4 in Divisional, 2 in Conference, and 1 in Super Bowl. So a grand total of 11 games are played in the play-offs. 12 if you count the Pro Bowl. Hope this Helps!
in todays setup you have 4 division champions in each confrence, the two best teams that are'nt a division champion will make a wildcard entry. the two division chanpions awarded the #1 and #2 seed(two best records in regular season)will have a bye(off)week. the remaining two division champions seeded #3,#4 will play on the first weekend of playoffs known as wildcard weekend.the wildcard team seeded #6 will play the #3 seeded team, the #5 seeded team will play the #4 seeded team.the winners in each confrence will advance to the divisional playoffs.this is thw second game(week) of playoffs the surviving teams keep their origional seed and the #1 seed plays the surviving team from wildcard weekend with the lowest seed.the #2 seed gets the other team(this happens in each confrence).the winners of this contest advance to their respective conference championship.home game to be decided by the highest seed.the winner then advances to the superbowl.so if you are a wildcard team, from getting tp the playoffs to winning it all you will have to endure a 4 game winning streak, the top 2 seeds in each confrence will only have to win 3. in short 4 division champs,2 wildcard teams for each confrence.
AFC and NFC division champions go against each other, the winner of the first game goes to the Conference Championship, and the winner of that goes to the Superbowl

How does the NFL supplemental draft work?

i hear about the supplemental draft, which just happened, but have no idea how it works. how do players become elligible for it? How is the draft order determined? Why do they have it? Does it have any effect on the real draft?

How does the NFL supplemental draft work?nba 2k

The supplemental draft is for players who either were not eligible for the first draft due to age, needing to finish summer classes, whatever; or for players who chose NOT to enter the first draft, possibly due to injury or performance concerns.

The draft order is determined in similar fashion to the draft order for the main draft back in te spring, but they don't have the compensatory picks, nor do they trade picks. The order is striaght from finishing order, with no trades from year to year or other things that add and remove a team's picks.

As for why they have it, part of the reason is what I typed above about players, the other is that the NFL looks for another chance to sign players that can make an impact, and this supplemental draft is like a closing sale at a store. It is the last chance to pick up players fromcollegebefore the season starts (not counting undrafted free agents who have likely already been invited to camps) and it is possible to get some bargains.

It effects next years draft because any team that takes a player in the supplemental draft then gives up their draft pick in next years draft. Cinncinnati took a LB in the thrid round, so they then give up next years third round pick.

What this all means is that teams interested in the very small numbers of supplemental draftees have to decide what value in next year's draft a player would have, as well as what other teams would likely value him. Cinncinnati igured someone ahead of them would have taken Brooks in the fourth round, so if they wanted him they needed to take him in the third round. As a result, supplemental drafts go much faster since most teams pass on a pick (and almost no first round picks are ever taken) and most teams make no picks in the supplemental draft.

No, I did not post this question just to hear how good the Bears ST is...

What NFL teams do you think have the best special teams unit?nba live 2007

I'm know for a fact that the bears are. if they don't get a touch down, there around mid Field.one of the best kicker's, a good punter.guys that block punts and kicks.and just so the rest of the folks forgot we have another great returner Nathan washer. so so what if Devan plays wide out. that means we have a faster wry than most teams.I'm kinda glad no one gives us a chance this year. gives me every right to say ha ha [ that's just being nice ] to all the doubters. but you won't find them they will be jumping on fan wagon.

Raiders. the kicker with the leg to kick from 70 yards and the best punter in history.
Eagles.
I'm gonna go with Browns and Bears.

The Rams have Dante Hall, and if they could stop somebody on DEF, he might be back to form.

Good luck!!
3.)Ravens

2.)Browns

1.)BEARS (duh)
the Bears with the best returner of alltime Devin Hester
The Bears have the best special teams. They block a ton of FG's and punts. And of course, they have Devin Hester.
the bears with devin hester, the best punt/kick returner in the history of the nfl and a decent coverage team
DA Bears!
bears
Browns

People are forgetting that Hester might become a wide reciever and he might be really good at it and they may not want him to get injured hence taking him off special teams

Thanks

Go Browns

R.I.P. Reggie White and Sean Taylor
The Browns and the Bears.

Both teams have amazing special teams.
My brownies no doubt. I have seen Cribbs return about 3 special teams TD's at the Browns stadium(should have been 4, but someone held someone). Bears will do ok tho.
The Cleveland Browns

If i used to play football in college and would like to try out for the nfl what do I do?

Here is my dilema. I played football for the University of Rhode Island, an NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision team. I graduated in 2006 and am looking for a combine or open tryouts to participate in, but i dont know who to contact or where to look on the web?

If i used to play football incollegeand would like to try out for the nfl what do I do?nba ballers

well first of all, you can enter in the NFL draft, you can contact the NFL by going onto www.nfl.com and emailing the head of the board, you should find his email address on the site.

If i used to play football incollegeand would like to try out for the nfl what do I do?nba draft lottery ,nba teams

Im just giving a wide open guess here but go to the bottom of the NFL website. look for something that could help you out. good luck with ur career
If you playedcollegeball you should know. Go back through your Athletic Department for info.
nfl.com/scouts
You would have to visit the team you want to try out for website. Click links the website has and dig deep into the website, you should be able to find out tryout dates

Why is ESPN taking all the suspense from the NFL draft?

ok, its cool if they find out, but first jake long and now chris long.

if your gonna build up this event, then keep your mouth shut so i can at least have a reason for watching.

just cause they know the pick doesnt mean they have to ruin it for us.

Why is ESPN taking all the suspense from the NFL draft?2006 nba draft

agree..I feel the pre-draft analysis is horrible and useless. Find it boring listening to a bunch of guys "projecting" who will go 23rd, 45th, etc...

I just wait for the draft, or if I have other things to do (which is likely) will find out later on.

Why is ESPN taking all the suspense from the NFL draft?nba schedule ,nba teams

its just two players

I had no problem with Jake being signed, but I agree it wasnt necessary to tell everyone the Rams are taking Chris.

As a Rams fan I wasnt really all that pumped for our first pick, I mean the suspense was taken away for the most part anyways
yeah it's pretty annoying. I don't blame ESPN for telling us, i blame Miami and St. Louis for telling ESPN.

There was no reason for Miami to anounce they were picking jake long five days early. They have the first pick. No one is going to take jake long before them. Why do they need to sign him five days before the draft?
Agree with ya .The reason they signed him 5 days ahead is they didnt want to sign him 2 or 3 weeks after training camp starts. Whens the last time a 1st rd pick was signed before training camp and how often does it happen ?
Yeah, that blows. Hopefully they don't break anything about Atlanta. Just turn ESPN off until a couple minutes before the draft
It's being broadcast on NFL Network as well and they all want to be the guy who broke the story. NFL Network said Chris Long to the Rams last night.

Should NFL players really get suspended for smoking marijuana?nba champs ,nba teams

It is still against the law and against league policy so YES they should. As long as it is against the law the league has no choice.
If I were a team owner, I would suspend any player for testing positive to illegal drug use - including marijuana. Why? Because I would want the most physically and mentally able players on my team at any given time.

If players are expected to adhere to strict policies on their workout routines and diet, I wouldn't throw all that effort away by looking the other way on drug use. Like it or not, even marijauna has negative health effects.
To the hippy above me, companies that drug test get more production out of less employees when they fire people for MJ use. My question to you is why do you think the rest of us need to pick up the slack for lazy pot heads

To answer the question, it's in the bylaws, and they are paid millions. Part of what the NFL makes it's money on is image, and being a druggie is bad for the image of the league.
Its illegal in the US and the NFL. If the players don't like that then they shouldn't have agreed to it in their union contract or can go play somewhere else.

That said the only effect it will have on them is a negative.
As long as pot is illegal, they're going to. :(
yes. just becsue pot heads are losers...i hate them all...they are the stupidest, most inconsiderate mororns on the earth. most people smoke to be "cool" but in reality, they are are wastes of life....
Yes. It's illegal. The rules are clear. If you're stupid enough to get caught you deserve what you get.

Should it be illegal is a whole different argument/question.
If it was ever legalized they wouldn't. There's just a stigma attached to it because of our alcohol culture. Anybody who knows anything about pot knows its nowhere near as debilitating as alcohol. But the NFL doesn't want to be seen as an organization that endorses committing crimes, because at the end of the day pot is still illegal. They would get criticized by even more people if they didn't test for it. The NFL is about making money and looking good. So they did the research before they wrote their policies in order to keep the majority of viewers happy.
People seem to forget that despite the pedestal we put professional athletes on, NFL players are still just employees. So your true question should be: Should employers be allowed to suspend employees for smoking pot? Or even: Should an employer be allowed to suspend an employee for committing a crime while under their employment?

The answer is yes. It's actually pretty lenient to just suspend them instead of firing them for actively participating in illegal activities.
Sports are the antithesis of drugs. If they weren't, you'd be signing your kids up to smoke crack. The NFL represents the highest athletic achievement for the sport of football. No true fan should tolerate a substance that impairs/reduces a players ability to perform at their maximum level. Of course marijuana merits suspention. If you disagree, you don't understand what athletics/sports are all about.
I don't think so, but then again where would the line be drawn? Would cocaine be okay? As long as it is not performance enhancing?
YES!! It's against the law! If anyone else were to be on drugs they would get fired too. Football players get suspended with their millions of dollars.
No. I think they should get the Nobel Prize for smoking marijuana.

Seriously, I don't care what these people are doing in their homes, but they sign million dollar deals with contingencies. I don't get paid millions, but if someone offered me a million dollars with the catch that I had to take drug tests, I wouldn't mind.
They should be required to give me all their weed so I have plenty to smoke while I watch them play.

As many as there are players with the ugliest tatoos
The NFL doesn't keep any official statistics on habitual use of marijuana by players.
18% I just called them all and asked. I assumed 4 % were liars, so I accounted for that.
I would say probably 20-25 % , It might be even smaller .
36%
12.743%.....give or take a tenth of a percent.
Ricky Williams and friends.
Lol, I'll let you know when I hang out with all of them this weekend.

Why do the "chain gangs" in the NFL switch sidelines in the second half?

I noticed this at two Tennessee Titans games this season. In the first half of the game, the official measurement chains were on the visitors sideline, and in the second half, the chains were on the home sideline. Why do they swap at halftime?

Why do the "chain gangs" in the NFL switch sidelines in the second half?nba mock draft

Actually it is the same reason they change end zones. They change end zones to eliminate any unfair advantage, but since the chain gang does not provide any advantage, it is for the convenience of the teams. This way the chains will always be on the same side relative to the teams on the field. The chains start on the side OPPOSITE the press box.

In your opinion should the NCAA do away with the BCS and go to a playoff format like in the NFL?

it is always good to have a playoff, head to head match up, in sports. allowing some computer system, and before that a group of voters, to select who the best team never really resolves who is the best. it does leave a lot for debate every year, which i think is whycollegefootball allows the system to remain. however, forcing the teams to playoff would leave no doubt as to who the champion really was at the end of the year. sports fans always have a debate available---would this team have beaten this team if...---but a playoff would allow the sports fan to say, 'well, they did win the championship.' that is important for the fan and player alike and i thinkcollegefootball is missing the boat when they do not consider changing the bcs to a playoff system.

In your opinion should the NCAA do away with the BCS and go to a playoff format like in the NFL?nba updates

Yes!

In your opinion should the NCAA do away with the BCS and go to a playoff format like in the NFL?nba tickets ,nba teams

YESSSSS!
Yes they should, but due to the massive amounts of money the BCS generates, they probably won't any time soon.

But what they could do, is to actually have it be a "series" in a playoff format, have the four traditional BCS bowls, with the 6 conference champions and two at-large teams, then have them play the first round in the traditional BCS bowls, then the winners move on to the "BCS Semifinal Matchups". The two winners then go to the "BCS National Championship Game", that we already have.
To many conferences incollegeto do an NFL format you would have to bunch teams together to make 6 or 8 conferences it sounds good though . how would you do it make a Febuary Madness bracket type play-off

in the NFL you are seeded how you finished record wise

Ohio State

USC

Miami

all go undefeated all D-1 schools and say a team like Akron goes undefeated how would you put them in the bracket
yep, the BSC is crap, look how successful March Madness is.
Absolutely.
it would be a good idea except there are what 30 teams in the NFL there are alot more Division 1 NCAA teams.
I agree that a revision should be made in which the Bowl games that is the 8 bigger bowl games would face off in a 8 team single elimination and that winner is National Champion. (Bowl games would be Sugar, Orange, Rose . Fiesta, Cotton, and 3 others )
Thge NCAA should scrap the BCS system, but it won't. The main reason is money. The NCAA gets a lot of money from the television revenue out of all of these (mostly useless) Bowl games.

Logistics is not an excuse. The old division I-AA has more teams than I-A and they are able to play a tounrament/playoff. I believe a playoff system would be more exciting as well as a lot more fair. But because it is all about money and vested interests. It will never happen ... at least not anytime soon.

Speaking of I-AA/FCS, GO MINUTEMEN!
NOPE... too many teams(even "bowl-eligible") to do that in an efficient way...
Like as has been mentioned. the NFL has only 32 teams, 2 conferences of 4 divs each, 4 teams in each div

NCAA has 119 Div 1 teams in I believe 11 conferences some with 1 div some with 2 anywhere from 5 to 13 teams.

A lot harder to come up with an equitable playoff.

Also NCAA has no affiliation with BCS or any NC claim in football. It is a separate organization that the individual colleges buy into.

So how many teams do you want to put into this playoff?

Keep in mind each factor of two in the playoff adds another game to those making it that far, and we are talking kids who already play 13-14 games.

Also, how are you going to seed these playoffs?

And for ex, you say 16 teams,, if there are 12 teams that are undefeated and have 1 loss, and 12 with 2 losses how do you choose the 4 two loss teams that make the playoff?

You would have to go right back to the polls, computers etc.
Yes. The 2003 season is a very good example of why.
a playoff format has several drawbacks. it would extend the season by at least 3 games. this makes it harder for student athletes to complete the student part of the equation. you would still need a system to determine who makes it and who doesnt. there are over 100 teams in the ncaa, the most teams in a league that uses playoffs is 32. the best team may not win. a team with 2 or 3 losses might get hot at the end of the season, or a team with a perfect record might get an injury, so the winning team may not be the best. however, the bcs can be improved. first off, NO PRESEASON POLLS. this ensures that all the teams start at 0 and earn everything. rankings should not be considered until at least the third week of play. playoffs would result in loss of revenue for many schools. bowls give teams with 3 or 4 losses a chance to play in december, and give players from those teams a chance to make a good impression before the draft. the bcs should be restructured so that any school is eligible to play in the championship game. teams who want to do well in the bcs schedule harder non conference schedules to earn the bonus points. if lsu didnt lose, and oregon didnt lose, they would easily be ahead of ohio state. the bcs forces teams to play hard every week. no taking time off to rest players once a playoff spot is clinched. so basically, there are too many teams and scenarios to make playoffs feasible forcollegefootball. and bcs makes for dramatic football all the way through the season and rewards the teams who produce a body of work, not just a few key games.
It would give more teams a chance to show how good they are so i think they should
Definitely. The current system is not fair to those teams who have tougher schedules. The rankings should not be based on polls.
it seems to work with all thosecollegebasketball teams. you'd have a playoff selection committee or just use the current BCS system. the and 1 thing looks good with only 1 more game after the bowl games but a full playoff is ideal. there is no drawback except for the money issue.
HECK YES!
I don't think that will ever happen. With a playoff there would be only one winner, but if a given team exceeds expectations and is thus invited to a bowl game they are winners even if they lose. Besides, what about the traditional match ups like Notre Dame vs. Michigan? Would there be enough room in the schedule? There would be just too much money lost if there was a playoff system for it too ever happen.
YES!!!
Yes and itd be seeded and when they reach the elite eight they'd choose it like the bcs bowls (Choose which ones would play each other, one game would be the Rose Bowl another the Sugar, Ect.) Of Course the winner of those would make it to the final four and then the BCS Championship Game

Course i don't mind the current system, it makes the regular season much better and with a playoff the same teams would be in the playoffs and some of the interesting lower tier teams wouldn't be playing
ABSOLUTELY! The BCS is B.S.! This year you are going to have a bunch of one loss teams that should have a chance to play the championship game. What a shame!

Even division 1-aa have playoffs! isn't division 1collegefootball the only sport not to have a playoff for a true champion. what a joke! I think the playoff system would make more money than the bowl system. Have a 16 format. it would be must see tv just like all the other playoffs! $$$$$$$$!
Well yeah! And, the thumbs down haters are just Ohio State fans that know their team wouldn't make it to a BCS game with a playoff system.
i will reserve my opinion on the subject and give you someone else's opinion.

the guy below me emailed me and told me his real opinion is that we should stick with the bowl system because a playoff system would get rid of a lot of the message board discussions about who really is the best team (this year).
Playoff system will not generate money.

We all know USC is the best team ever. Why should we have a playoff system

honestly,

about 10 minutes after the super bowl
about a month after the pro bowl cause then there is nothing to watch sunday or monday night except WWE raw which is getting gay
About march when you realize you got 5-6 months to wait
For me, it starts middle of June. AFter the NBA playfoffs.
after the pro bowl.

cant help but wait til next season
A couple weeks after the superbowl when you realize you've taken games for granite. Weekends are less fun besides hangin w friends
once the trolls come on
After free agency slows down, but before the draft cause all anyone can do is predict draft status and all that junk. lol its like an addiction.
After the Superbowl
pretty much after the Super Bowl , the only thing that keeps me going is going to the different websites and reading all the news , or watching Sportcenter , i have cable so that mean no NFL Network for me
Every Sunday morning when I'm dragged to church!!

Are you drunk? Once again, Lofa is losing out because of douche bag. His rookie season it was a cheating steroid addict, this time its Pacman. Like the whole league isnt overshadowed by Pacman? Adalius Thomas. They guys is the most underrated. He plays DE, LB, CB, and even Safety once. He is very versitile and has over 25 sacks the past 3 years.
Sheldon Brown. The reason Lito Sheppard is able to make all his big plays is because QBs would rather throw to Sheppard's side, so they can avoid Brown. And the year Sheppard was injured (along with the rest of the team) Brown had an MVP-level season, playing corner AND safety and racking up INTs and all sorts of big plays. Also, his hit on Reggie Bush in the playoff game last year...poetry in motion.

I'm not going to make a homer pick, because I'm pretty sure all the Bears defenders individually are overrated. I'm gonna go with the Broncos D-line. They were bad in CLE, but when they moved, they improved...

there are a lot of underrated D players in the nfl. lofa tatupu, jamal williams, aaron kampman, kerry rhodes, luis castillo, terence newman, and bob sanders all either put up good numbers without getting noticed, or make their D considerably better when they are in the lineup.
Bob Sanders, he brings players to a whole diffrent level when hes on the field and he is a terrific cover safety
kevin williams - dt - minnesota vikings
Demarcus Ware ... he get's some props but not what he deserves. He is overshadowed by Shawn Merriman because they were in the same draft class.
Antoine Winfield of the Minnesota Vikings. He is the best tackling cornerback in the NFL and can cover with the best of them. He never misses time and somehow has never made the pro bowl. You don't hear much about him because teams constantly stay away from his side of the field. Too bad he plays for the Vikings.
Aaron Smith Steelers Defensive End he stops the run and gets to the Quarterback almost all the time he should get more love than he does.
the entire Steeler's d-line
In my opinion the most underrated defensive player in the NFL would have to be Demeco Ryans. Yeah hes only played one full season in the nfl, but he had very good stats last season in his rookie year but scarcely got reconigzned. He finished his season with 155 tackles, 3.5 sacks, 1 INT, and a FF. He did win defensive rookie of the year, and thats when he started getting reconigzed a little bit. Even before the end of the season he was making great plays and helping his D and was never really reconigzned. He had great stats, and he even had more tackles then some of the really great linebackers in the nfl. I guess he never got really reconigzed because he played for a crappy team like the houston texans, which I think sucks bad.
Ray Lewis , Brain Urlacher, Jason Taylor, Shawn Sterioman are all underratted players.. they get no respect.
the bear's d-line they where stoping the running game 4 everyone this line is the best d-line in the nfl right now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...
Winfiled, best corner in the game
Lofa Tatupu

He does get press, but Lofa doesnt get the money or the press he deserves. Big headed steroid idiots like Merriman get the glory by coming in on third and long when the coach tells him to "run straight" and he gets the sacks. Lofa on the other hand, has led his teams defense in and out of the huddle, led his team in tackles his rookie year, and took the Seahawks defense to the superbowl against Pitt.

Lofa all the way.

Also, on draft day when he was taken 2nd round by Seattle, ESPN analysts were calling it the worst pick of the draft and far to early for a MLB so undersized. I think hes been under rated since the day he entered the league, and still is now. Last year he only made the Pro Bowl as an alternate. Thats garbage, he owns.

I just want to add that leading a defense is way harder than just playing defense and playing it well. He gets the plays from the sideline, calls it in the huddle, makes LB and D-Line adjustments before the snap and is always involved in the play. The man is everywhere. He is a mini-Urlacher for 400K per year, how is there anyone more under rated. 228 Total Tackles in his FIRST two years as a pro. Not best two years out of 10, his first 2 ever!

Demarcus Ware is not under rated, he is over rated, dude had less than 60 tackles this year, please.
how bout that corner for the raiders. i think his name nmadi asamougha or something like that. because he plays on the raiders team he doesnt get the notoriety he deserves. i have seen him make some great plays on the ball and he happens excel at the position that a lot of people deem most important. watch for him to have a huge season this year.
DE Aaron Kampman GB Packers

How come the MLB draft isnt as well publicized as the NBA and NFL drafts?

1. there are way to many rounds

2. in other sports the rookies drafted in the top ten usually play the next year for their teams.

3. in baseball you dont hear about those guys again for an average of four years or so

How come the MLB draft isnt as well publicized as the NBA and NFL drafts?nhl

I think it's because a lot of these guys will never play an inning of major league baseball. In the NFL and the NBA you're being drafted to play for that team, especially the higher round picks are pretty much guaranteed a spot on their professional roster. In baseball these guys are drafted by a team to play in their minor league system. Some of these guys are known for those fans that followcollegebaseball, but then there's also kids coming out of high school that nobody knows a thing about. Not to mention a lot of these guys may not even be with the team that drafted them because of how often players are moved around in trades for big name veterans. I wish it were as big as the NBA and NFL draft, but the fact of the matter is it will never be as big as either of them.

How come the MLB draft isnt as well publicized as the NBA and NFL drafts?nba street homecourt ,nba teams

I didnt read through all the replies, so if someone else gave this answer, kudos to them.

I never realized this, but last year while reading a book about baseball, it made a great point that baseball players seem to hit their prime after 25, and usually are not going to be immediate impact players the moment they come out of college.

Plus, the differences in thecollegegame versus the professional game make it somewhat prohibitive for a player to make the immediate jump.

As the comparison was made, you have an impact player incollegeand football, and their games are so similar, you can have an Adrian Peterson come out and make an immediate impact in the NFL or a LeBron James make an immediate impact in the NBA.

But, because of the different fields, different concentrations on teachins incollegebaseball, the aluminum bats, pitchers who dont have the speed or control as the professional level players, there are few players who have ever been successful making the immediate jump fromcollegeto the MLB!
I think that it's because odds are that first-round MLB draft picks are going to go straight to the minor leagues. Very rarely do they make an immediate impact on a major league roster. Typically, it takes them roughly 3-5 years before they make it to the show if they make it at all. In the NBA and NFL both, the drafts from rounds 1-4 will be playing for their respective team that season.
Due to the fact of the caliber of players in the Draft. It is very rare that a MLB Draftee starts the following season and makes an impact like in the other sports. As someone above stated they would spend a few years in the minors prior to being called up. The draft is usuallycollegegrads. So they have to do something aftercollegeball. Most teams have players locked up right out of high school some as young as 13 years old, usually those are the south americans. The MLB Draft is not a big deal when you can sign someone out of high school and put them straight into your farm system when they graduate high school or college. Hope this helps!
I think it's because thecollegebaseball game isn't as hyped. Most of these players don't see MLB action till 3-5 years down the road, and rarely is there an instant stud who gets brought up out of a draft. MLB draft picks make their names down the road so people don't really care to see who gets picked where when it happens, its just something to look at if they ever become successful.
NBA/NFL draftees for the most part have a pretty quick impact. MLB, the player has to go to the minors. And in today's day and age top prospects usually get traded by the time they hit the bigs. They are good pawns for big name players.
baseball isn't as popular as football and basketball. Who really watchescollegebaseball? At least with the NBA and NFL you are watching the athletes incollegeand they become somewhat household names...
1. There are a lot more rounds.

and

2. Most of the players taken are from high school orcollegeand they are less known thancollegebasketball or football players.
Because most of em spend a few years in the minors while NFL and NBA go right to the majors.
Because their is so many rounds!

Mlb.com will be showing all the rounds

and espn2 shows round 1....major league baseball has 50 rounds!
because nobody knows them and almost all spend 3 to 4 years in the minors before making the bigs...if they ever do.
There is no guarantee any of them will ever make the bigs
nobody knows the players...
way too many teams and rounds and players involved

To many conferences incollegeto do an NFL format you would have to bunch teams together to make 6 or 8 conferences it sounds good though . how would you do it make a Febuary Madness bracket type play-off

in the NFL you are seeded how you finished record wise

incollegeit's strength of schedule

Ohio State

USC

Florida

Miami

all go undefeated all D-1 schools and say a team like Akron goes undefeated how would you put them in the bracket
yep, the BSC is crap, look how successful March Madness is.
Absolutely.
it would be a good idea except there are what 30 teams in the NFL there are alot more Division 1 NCAA teams.

Why do NFL players celebrate after making routine plays?

A first down, routine tackle, sack, decent return.. These NFL players celebrate every standard play in the game... Dances, gestures, chest-thumping, LOOK AT ME! LOOK WHAT I DID!

Players need to have class and act like their latest play isn't a once-in-a-lifetime occurence..

Because from a very young age it was tolerated by coaches, parents and fans instead of teaching them humility. It sucks.

Who is the most overrated team in the NFL?

I say the Steelers they are always in everyones top 5ish but they never pull threw. They had lucky breaks during their super bowl run (in Indy and the maybe TD run by Ben). Do you also think they would have gone farther this year if Willie Parker would not have gotten hurt?

Who is the most overrated team in the NFL?hockey

the steelers are overrated but not the most overrated i would say the ravens are the most overrated they had such high expectations. by the way anyone who thinks the patriots are overrated is f****** stupid they went 16-0.

Who is the most overrated team in the NFL?nba street v3 ,nba teams

Steelers are overrated, and also the Cowboys
I have to go with Dallas.

I am a Steelers fan, and I disagree that they are over rated. Most people predicted them to be 3rd place in the North this year. Even in Pittsburgh expectations were not high this season, with the new coach coming in. I do not think they would have gone any further with FWP, the offensive line is not very good right now and i think the Jags front would have shut him down anyway.
Miami who else can go 1-15 and should of went 0-16. very over rated.
2007 New Orleans Saints
How about them Cowgirls. Wow did they ever blow it again in the Playoffs. When a team burns out at the end of the season like they did this year then that is over rated. Here is a couple more, the Bengals and the Aints. Both predicted to go far this season. Both ended up 7-9. Pathetic. You can even throw the Rams in there. Wow did Bulger rob the Rams of millions of dollars this year. Should have done well this season but decided a concussion is a good reason to blame for having a bad season. The packers are the most UNDERATED team this year by far next to the Giants (they are in the SB).
I would have to say Dallas and then the Steelers, yes they would have gone farher with Wille being healthy.
How about the Eagles every year the get predicted to do good things and guess what nothing ever happens
Sorry, but I must say Dallas.
apparently its dallas.
New England.

If an NFL team cheats(see Patriots)should the league do like the NCAA does if a school cheats?

Put them on probation for so many years, take away draft picks for so many years, take away wins if they cheated in that game and won it,brake up there roster and make them start over.,ban the coach or owner from the NFL if he was the one who cheated, maybe even the death penalty instead of a stupid little fine and a couple draft picks.

If an NFL team cheats(see Patriots)should the league do like the NCAA does if a school cheats?sporting goods

wow, your pretty stupid for asking this question. I hope your not serious. You sound like a 16 yr old who has no common sense and is jealous.

If an NFL team cheats(see Patriots)should the league do like the NCAA does if a school cheats?nba hall of fame ,nba teams

I hate the Patriots, but let's be realistic here; if everybody cheats than is it really cheating. Yes, to answer your question, the penalty should be more similar to the NCAA, but the Patriots didn't exactly do anything wrong...other than get caught. Besides the whole story is summed up by one team, the New York Giants. The Patriots had all the video tape they needed from Week 17, and they still couldn't figure the Giants out.
the important difference between what the pats got caught doing and what the rest of the league does is the pats video taped it. there is no rule against stealing other teams signals. the rule only prohibits using electronic devices to record the signals. that is what the pats did. and if they did not get any advantage from it....then why did they do it???

the rest of the league was not doing what the pats were doing making a video library of opposing teams signals that is a big difference and are we really to belive the pats turned over any really incriminating tapes? anything really bad was shredded or erased

as for punishing nfl teams like the ncaa does the nfl does everything possible to avoid major scandels like destroying the evidence and video tapes the pats turned over. if that isnt sweeping it under the rug or covering it up what is. but losing a 1st round pick is a big penalty. the pats lucked out having traded for the 49'ers pick. but look at how long it takes for a team to recover from a bust pick the charger took about 5 years to recover from ryan leaf and the bengals took about 10 years after wasting picks on david klingler and akili smith. not having a pick would be the same as a bust
I agree with you in taking away the Draft Picks and taking away Wins, breaking up the roster is kind of uncalled for cause they didn't cheat to build up the roster and banning the coach is personally what I think should of happened to Bill Belicheat.
I hope at the end you were being sarcastic... especially since what the Patriots did only became big because the media blew it out of proportion because they knew it would set off fans like you. I'm sorry... and I stand by this, but you CANNOT be cheating when there are legal ways around a rule.
If they were going to do that to the Patriots they would have to hit the rest of the league with the same penalty. Goodell knows they weren't the only team doing it, so he chose to merely make an example out of them... instead of crippling them.
I agree. Cheats Suck!!!
