If an NFL team cheats(see Patriots)should the league do like the NCAA does if a school cheats?

Put them on probation for so many years, take away draft picks for so many years, take away wins if they cheated in that game and won it,brake up there roster and make them start over.,ban the coach or owner from the NFL if he was the one who cheated, maybe even the death penalty instead of a stupid little fine and a couple draft picks.

wow, your pretty stupid for asking this question. I hope your not serious. You sound like a 16 yr old who has no common sense and is jealous.

I hate the Patriots, but let's be realistic here; if everybody cheats than is it really cheating. Yes, to answer your question, the penalty should be more similar to the NCAA, but the Patriots didn't exactly do anything wrong...other than get caught. Besides the whole story is summed up by one team, the New York Giants. The Patriots had all the video tape they needed from Week 17, and they still couldn't figure the Giants out.
the important difference between what the pats got caught doing and what the rest of the league does is the pats video taped it. there is no rule against stealing other teams signals. the rule only prohibits using electronic devices to record the signals. that is what the pats did. and if they did not get any advantage from it....then why did they do it???

the rest of the league was not doing what the pats were doing making a video library of opposing teams signals that is a big difference and are we really to belive the pats turned over any really incriminating tapes? anything really bad was shredded or erased

as for punishing nfl teams like the ncaa does the nfl does everything possible to avoid major scandels like destroying the evidence and video tapes the pats turned over. if that isnt sweeping it under the rug or covering it up what is. but losing a 1st round pick is a big penalty. the pats lucked out having traded for the 49'ers pick. but look at how long it takes for a team to recover from a bust pick the charger took about 5 years to recover from ryan leaf and the bengals took about 10 years after wasting picks on david klingler and akili smith. not having a pick would be the same as a bust
I agree with you in taking away the Draft Picks and taking away Wins, breaking up the roster is kind of uncalled for cause they didn't cheat to build up the roster and banning the coach is personally what I think should of happened to Bill Belicheat.
I hope at the end you were being sarcastic... especially since what the Patriots did only became big because the media blew it out of proportion because they knew it would set off fans like you. I'm sorry... and I stand by this, but you CANNOT be cheating when there are legal ways around a rule.
If they were going to do that to the Patriots they would have to hit the rest of the league with the same penalty. Goodell knows they weren't the only team doing it, so he chose to merely make an example out of them... instead of crippling them.
I agree. Cheats Suck!!!
